I fell in in love with Broom Boats after first admiring them during my childhood on the Norfolk Broads, and especially after my apprenticeship. I eventually managed to buy an Ocean 37 called Chinook direct from Martin Broom in around 2003, after years of trading up with lots of other types of boats. Having been originally involved in building Chinook for the Broom family as their boat for the Scottish Lochs, it seemed a perfect fit! Somehow, I've never been able to part with her and she is now very much a member of our family, moored at Sneek in the Netherlands. My family and I go there as often as we can.

After a long and successful career in construction, I now want to spend more of my time with my first love, Broom boats. I am never happier than when problem solving on one of these fine boats, or making joinery for them in our garage. I love a challenge!
